1. Introduction
Welcome to Text Stack ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and providing transparency about how your data is collected, stored, utilized, and safeguarded. Text Stack is an educational, interactive test preparation platform offering subject-wise multiple choice question (MCQ) drills, timed examinations, adaptive practice modes, mistake revision banks, personal bookmarking, and global learning leaderboards.
This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding your information when you download, install, access, or use the Text Stack mobile application on the Android platform via the Google Play Store. By using Text Stack, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum necessary information to authenticate your identity, sync your learning progress across devices, and deliver an optimal test preparation experience:
A. Personal Identification & Authentication Information
- Full Name / Display Name: Full name or username provided upon sign up or updated via Profile settings.
- Email Address: Used as your primary account identifier, for authentication, password recovery, and service communications.
- Profile Picture / Avatar: If you upload a profile picture, it is securely stored as an image or compact data URI. You may remove or change this photo at any time.
- Third-Party Credentials: When you sign in using Google Sign-In, we receive authentication credentials (email, name, photo URL) directly via Google OAuth 2.0. We never receive or store your Google account password.
B. Educational & Test Performance Data
- Test & Quiz Results: Questions attempted, selected options, correct/incorrect statuses, scores, time taken per test session, and overall accuracy percentages.
- Bookmarks: Questions you explicitly save for revision and practice.
- Mistakes Revision Hub: Questions answered incorrectly are logged in your private Mistake Bank to facilitate targeted review.
- Leaderboard Metrics: Total cumulative score, test count, accuracy, and rank displayed publicly on competitive Leaderboards (All-Time, Monthly, Weekly, and Subject-Wise).
- Daily Streak Data: Daily consecutive study streaks tracked to encourage active learning habits.
C. In-App Feedback & Reviews
- App Ratings & Reviews: When you voluntarily use the in-app "Rate Our App" feature, we collect your star rating (1–5 stars) and any feedback suggestions you choose to submit.
D. Technical & Diagnostic Information
- Crash Diagnostics: In the event of an application crash or error, anonymous diagnostic logs, stack traces, and device state metrics are collected via Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose and resolve bugs.
- Device Telemetry: Device model, operating system version, and general anonymized usage telemetry via Firebase Analytics to optimize performance.
3. How We Use Your Information
We utilize the collected information strictly for legitimate educational, operational, and development purposes:
- To authenticate accounts and maintain persistent user sessions.
- To calculate and present accurate test scores, speed metrics, accuracy percentages, and performance breakdowns.
- To maintain seamless cloud synchronization across your mobile devices via Google Cloud Firestore.
- To compile real-time, competitive leaderboards celebrating learner achievements.
- To power adaptive learning features such as Bookmark practice, Mistake revision, and Daily Streak tracking.
- To identify technical issues, optimize app responsiveness, and prevent software crashes.
- To review user ratings and feedback for feature roadmap enhancements.
Zero Data Commercialization: We do NOT sell, rent, lease, or monetize your personal information or study performance data to any third-party advertisers, data brokers, or commercial marketing agencies.

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy
In compliance with the Google Play Developer Policy and Data Safety requirements, Text Stack provides users with complete autonomy over their data:
- Retention Period: We retain your educational progress, history, and profile data for as long as your account remains active, ensuring uninterrupted synchronization across app launches and devices.
- In-App Self-Service Deletion: You can permanently delete your entire account and all associated cloud data at any time directly within the app by navigating to: Profile Screen -> Settings & Preferences -> "Delete Account & Clear Cloud Data". This action immediately and irreversibly purges your user profile, test attempts, bookmarks, mistake collections, statistics, and leaderboard records from Firestore.
- Email Request Deletion: Users may alternatively submit a formal data erasure request via email to our support team at sukh.dev.developer@gmail.com. We will process and permanently remove your records within 30 business days.
6. Security of Your Data
We place the utmost importance on protecting your personal information. We employ industry-standard technical and organizational security safeguards:
- Encryption in Transit: All network communications between the Text Stack application and Firebase cloud servers are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2 / 1.3 / HTTPS).
- Rule-Based Database Isolation: Firestore Security Rules strictly enforce that private test attempts, bookmarks, and mistake records can only be read or written by the authenticated owner.
- Credential Protection: Passwords are encrypted and salted using industry-standard hashing protocols by Firebase Authentication; passwords are never accessible in plain text.
7. Children's Privacy
Text Stack is designed as a general educational and competitive examination test preparation application for students, job aspirants, and adult learners. Text Stack does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable legal age in your jurisdiction).
If you are a parent or guardian and become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately at sukh.dev.developer@gmail.com. We will promptly take steps to delete such information from our servers.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information, including personal data, may be transferred to and maintained on cloud computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. Our database infrastructure is hosted securely on Google Cloud Platform / Firebase servers with global security certifications (including ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 1/2/3, and GDPR compliance).
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements to our services, legislative updates, or changes in Google Play Developer Policies. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy within the application (under Profile -> Privacy Policy) and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective immediately upon being posted.
